Google's 200 Position Factors: The Complete List
You Probably know that Google uses about 200 rank things in their algorithm...
However, What the heck are they?
Well Today you're in for a treat since I have assembled a whole list.
Some are proven.
Some Are contentious.
Others are SEO nerd speculation.
Page Category:
The Category the page looks on is a relevancy signal. A page that's a part of a closely connected group ought to find a relevancy boost compared to some page that's filed under an unrelated or less related category.
Grammar and Spelling:
Proper Grammar and spelling is a quality signal, although Cutts gave mixed messages in 2011 on whether or not this was significant.
Parked Domains:
A Google update in December of 2011 diminished search visibility of parked domains.
Keyword in H2, H3 Tags:
Having Your keyword seem as a subheading in H2 or H3 format could be another feeble correlation signal. Moz's panel agrees:
Magnitude Of Content Updates:
The Significance of changes and edits is also a freshness factor. Adding or removing entire sections is a more significant upgrade than switching around the order of a few words.
Useful Content:
As Pointed out by Backlinko reader Jared Carrizales, Google may differentiate between "quality" and "useful" content.
